Starting your Lobuche Peak Climb

SummitClimb offers four different ways to climb the Lobuche peak. The first option, climb Lobuche peak as a part of Everest View Glacier School. It will take 18 days. The second option climb Lobuche along with the Everest base camp trek. It will take 22 days. The third option climb Lobuche directly from Lukla without trekking the Everest base camp. It will take 17 days and finally the fourth option is climbing Lobuchepeak as a part of Ama Dablam, you have to add 5 more extra days.

Once you decide any of four different ways to climb Lobuche then you need to arrive at Kathmandu, Nepal. From your hometown you need to arrive at Kathmandu Airport. You will get visa on arrival when you land and enter the airport terminal.  Carry at least $150 cash with you and don’t forget to bring passport size photo. After getting visa from immigration clerks, pick up your luggage and exit the terminal. SummitClimb staff will be present here to welcome you. Our staff will arrange a van to bring you to hotel where you will be staying. It’s about 25 minutes drive from the airport.

The hotel where you will stay in Kathmandu is very clean and provides hygienic food. The name of the hotel is Harati which is located in Thamel, the tourist district of Kathmandu. If you wish to book any 5-star hotel than you can book it. Yak and Yeti is just near to Thamel. Thamel have lots of cafes, bakeries, and pubs so you will be eating lunch and dinner in one of the tastiest restaurants in Thamel. On the day of arrival SummitClimb offers special welcome group dinner.

Summitclimb trips leader will check your climbing and trekking equipment. If you have missed or haven’t brought from home then no need to worry. You can easily find in Thamel and SummitClimb staff will be there to help you out. It’s your choice whether you need a brand new or second hand. Even you can get all the equipment,boots, and clothing in rent in Kathmandu. Just a few walks from hotel you can find hundreds of mountaineering shops. The prices are affordable as well.

Finally our journey to Lobuche climb begin. Your group leaders suggest you to wake up early next morning as we need to drive back to Airport to reach Lukla. This time we need to fly from domestic terminal. Sometimes we need to go from regional airport of Mainthali-Ramechap. It will take 4 hours drive from Kathmandu to reach Ramechap. Our destination is to reach Lukla airport at 2860m / 9380 ft. A 16 seat plane takes 30 minute to reach Lukla. Sometimes Summitclimb use helicopter for flight to Lukla. You can even see Everest as well during the flight.Everest expedition cost differs as it can be climbed from both Nepal side as well as Tibet side.After reaching LuklaSummitClimb will look up your paperwork formalities and finally you will be able to begin your trek. We will be staying at Namaste Lodge in Lukla. During any trek SummitClimb will provide you food three times a day.
